Photos, files, and video in chat

Attach media to your messages.

You can send photos, documents, and short videos to chat so it can read them and respond to what is actually in front of you.

Attach something

1. Select the paperclip or plus button next to the message box. 2. Choose a file from your device, or take a photo on your phone. 3. Add a sentence explaining what you want, then send.

You can also drag a file onto the chat window on a computer, or paste a screenshot straight from your clipboard.

What to send and what to ask

| You attach | Try asking |
| --- | --- |
| Your resume as a PDF | "Rewrite this for a dental assistant role." |
| A screenshot of a job posting | "What are the three must-have requirements here?" |
| A photo of a paper job flyer | "Turn this into a job I can search for online." |
| A short video walkthrough | "What is going wrong in this process?" |

Attaching your resume once at the start of a conversation saves a lot of retyping later.

Good to know

- Attachments stay with the chat, so reopening the conversation later brings them back. - Large files may take a moment to upload on a slow connection. Wait for the thumbnail to appear before sending. - Limits: about 10 MB per file, up to 10 files per message, about 1 GiB storage when signed in, about 90 days retention. Details: Attachment size and storage limits. - Only attach documents you are comfortable storing in your account. Redact anything sensitive, like a full Social Security number, before uploading. - Need to flag something that went wrong with a response? See Report a chat.
