Maps and the homepage

Near you, shared chips, and Open jobs map.

Home and Maps share the same nearby jobs idea. Filters you set on one follow you to the other in that tab.

Near you on home

While you are signed in, the homepage can show a map preview with company logos and an Open jobs map control. That opens Maps at the same kind of nearby view. Location comes from Maps when you have allowed it, and otherwise from an approximate location. While you are signed out, home still shows that map preview from an approximate location. In a large city the job list tries nearby openings first (Jobs near you), about 50 km, the same kind of nearby search as Maps. Each new page of home jobs mixes employers the same way the Maps list does, so one company does not take the whole row when others are hiring too. Reloading the page or coming back to Home remixes those same cards for about 30 minutes in that tab, without a new search, unless you moved far enough to change the location cell or you changed filters. Jobs and Maps reuse that nearby list too when you open them from Home. Cards already on screen stay in place when more jobs load. Empty boxes in that row fill from the next nearby pages before Top picks for you fills. Roles you skipped or applied to stay on Saved and are hidden on home. Home keeps paging for more openings instead of stopping on an empty page of those hidden roles. If that first page is empty, or you are not near a large city, home uses Explore jobs from your US state (or your country outside the US). Tap Show more to page that nearby list. Extra jobs stay ready for Show more after the Near you boxes are full. When those 50 km pages run out, home loads jobs from neighboring 50 km areas (up to eight), then one wider 200 km search or Explore jobs, and then stops. Explore jobs from a quieter area pages that list, then one wider hop (state to country, or country to worldwide), then Show more hides. Distance and a job title still switch the list toward local or titled search. Jobs stays a swipe-first screen, so location permission lives on Maps.

Date, experience, type, visa, and Sort by chips above Near you are the same controls as Filter jobs on Maps. Changing them on home updates Maps until you reload the page.
