What can my API key do?

Scopes and roles in plain English: what a key is allowed to access.

An API key can only do what it is allowed to do. In Worklittle, that usually follows the permissions of the person who created the key in that organization.

Think in capabilities, not jargon

Common capabilities include:

- Read jobs and company data - Apply or submit applications - Post jobs for your organization - Manage candidates and hiring pipeline data - Manage webhooks - Work with employees, surveys, or documents on the Business side

If a call returns forbidden, the key does not have that capability.

Who can create powerful keys

Owners and people with enough edit access can create keys for the organization. A key from a limited role cannot suddenly unlock owner-only actions.

If your developer needs more access, an owner may need to create the key or raise the teammate’s role. See Roles and permissions.
