Work email vs personal email

Which address to sign in with, and where your work address belongs.

Short answer: sign in with a personal address if you are job hunting, and a work address if you are hiring.

If you are looking for a job, use a personal address

Three good reasons.

- Privacy. Many companies can read employee mailboxes. A job search does not belong in one. - You keep the account. When you change jobs, the work address disappears and the account attached to it becomes unreachable. - Delivery. Corporate spam filters block sign-in codes far more often than personal ones do.

A Gmail address also gets you the one-tap Sign in with Google route.

If you are hiring, use your work address

On worklittle.com/business your account represents you inside your company, so a work address is the right choice. It is what teammates recognize when they invite you to the organization.

If your company uses Google Workspace, Continue with Google works with your work address the same way it does with a personal one.

Where your work email goes on a job seeker profile

Your profile has its own field for a work email. That is contact information used on applications, kept separate from the address you sign in with.

You can sign in with a personal address and still list a work address there, or leave it blank. See Manage linked emails.

Doing both at once

Plenty of people hire on one side and quietly look around on the other. Sign in with your work address for worklittle.com/business and your personal address for the job seeker app, then move between them with account switching.

Nothing you do in one account is visible from the other.

If you already signed up with a work address

You can keep using it, but consider moving to a personal one before you leave that job, since sign-in codes go to the work inbox and you will lose access to it.

Sign-in addresses cannot be changed, so this means creating an account on the personal address. Export your data from settings first so you have a copy of what you built up.
