API keys
Create a key when an app or an AI agent needs to connect to Worklittle.
An API key is a long password that lets a program use Worklittle on your behalf. Most people never need one. You only need a key if a developer or an AI tool asks for it.
Do you actually need a key
You do not need a key to use the Worklittle apps in your browser. See When to use the API vs the apps if you are unsure.
Create a key
1. Open worklittle.com/business. 2. Select API keys in the left sidebar. 3. Select Create API key. 4. Name it after where it will be used, for example "Careers page" or "Slack bot". 5. Copy the full key now. It is shown once and never again.
Keep it safe
- Treat a key like a password. Anyone who has it can act as your organization. - Paste it into a password manager or hand it to your developer through a secure channel. - Do not put it in a public document, a spreadsheet shared by link, or a screenshot. - Never paste it into a chat message with someone you do not know.
Revoke a key
On the API keys page, open the menu on a key's row and choose Revoke. It stops working immediately and cannot be brought back.
To replace a key without downtime, create the new one first, give it to whoever is using it, then revoke the old one. More detail is in Share or rotate an API key.
Costs
Keys themselves are free. What a key is used for may cost money. See How does API usage get billed?, Billing overview, and Usage dashboard.
